#WildcatWednesday - Mrs. Nichols

Every Wednesday we will be showcasing a different staff member here at Whittier Tech!

This week is Mrs. Katie Nichols! Mrs. Nichols holds many roles at Whittier, including Student Services Liaison, Learning Loss Coordinator, Reading Specialist, and English teacher. This is her fifteenth year at Whittier Tech.

Here are some fun facts about Mrs. Nichols:

What do you like about Whittier: I love that the students have so many opportunities to meet different people from the Merrimack Valley through their trades, clubs, and sports. I also love that Whittier prepares the students for both college and career and that they can go out on co-op at the end of their Junior year.

Fun Fact about yourself:  In 2004, my husband proposed to me via cell phone, and then the proposal was played on the old radio station WBCN.  People had to vote on the internet for the best proposal out of five choices.  We won the contest and they flew us to South Lake Tahoe, Nevada to be married by a rockstar with 20 other couples.  This is me, Courtney Love, and Lyle when she officiated our wedding.

Another fun fact, I didn't realize that I was pregnant when I accept the job at Whittier.  Cody is now thirteen years old.  Here is a picture of me, Cody, and Lyle at Open House this year.

Mrs. Nichols’ advice to students: My advice for students is to be present and to be positive.  When you look back on your high school experience, you want to say that you were there and that you made the most of every moment.  Get involved and have fun!

Thank you, Mrs. Nichols, for your continued dedication to the students of Whittier Tech!

Stay tuned next week to meet our next staff member!
